Compensation: $25/hour plus up to $500/month home office expense reimbursement

Time commitment: Full-time, fellowship to 12/31/2025

Location: 100% Remote, Telework

About the Role

We are looking for a Vertical Video Producer Fellow who will work with our Quickturn team to conceptualize, produce, and script news-driven videos on a quick timeline, specifically for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. 

Video storytelling skills are essential for the role as well as a passion for, and experience in content ideation, scripting, and pre-production; production (including conducting interviews and on-camera work); and post-production. The Vertical Video Producer Fellow will be working on a range of video formats across social media platforms, including breaking news coverage, videos from the picket line and b-roll documenting safety conditions, on-camera explainers, and concise, shareable shorts emphasizing a strong point from our longer-form content.

The Vertical Video Producer Fellow must be immersed in and excited about the process of telling stories through video, with the technical and narrative skills to create powerful stories that hook viewers and keep people watching to the end. The position requires a high level of self-sufficiency, strong collaboration and communication skills, and a desire to help develop and grow our brand.

Core Responsibilities: 

• Produce and script original vertical videos for our social media channels, including short explainers with experts, man on the street videos with a reporter, field reported pieces featuring actions and interviews with people impacted on the ground, live moments showcasing tension between the working class and corporate villains, and videos documenting strikes and union drives; 
• Draft shot lists and interview questions for shoots;
• Pull video clips, b-roll, news headlines, images and other media for scripts;
• Provide research assistance, fact checking and copy editing on video scripts;
• When needed, record VO or shoot direct to camera for quickturn pieces;
• Work with our Quickturn News Manager o break down longer, produced pieces into compelling short-form content that ties into the news cycle;Receive assignments from supervisor and colleagues for prompt action;
• Operate in a nimble environment;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications: 

• An excellent scriptwriter, visual producer, storyteller and collaborator, with strong interpersonal skills;
• Regular user of social media, in particular TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube;
• Passion for, and substantial knowledge of, national politics and economic justice issues; 
• A self-starter who pays close attention to detail and is highly organized and capable of meeting tight deadlines;
• Available full-time hours and able to excel in a remote - work from home environment.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere;Proficiency with in-platform editing tools on TikTok and Instagram a plus;
• Interest and experience in on-camera work in news or explainer videos a major plus
