Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term/part-time basis. This role is ideal for an accounting expert with a strong background in managing financial records and maintaining compliance. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to critical financial processes and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.

Objectives in this Position

  • Manage bookkeeping accounts as assigned.
  • Provide quality support workpapers for Accountants.
  • Make yourself someone the office team couldn't live without.
  • Assist with managing administrative and logistical infrastructure of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly bookkeeping, banking, and account reconciliations with QuickBooks Online; ensure underlying support is appropriate, understand the purpose of the account and nature of transactions and investigate and resolve any reconciling items.
  • Along with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting, prepare supporting workpapers for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the accounting system for clients by ensuring that accounting transactions are correctly posted, and financial and management reports are produced on a timely basis.
  • Familiarity with routine accounting tasks such as payables, receivables, revenue, expenses, and payroll. Has a strong understanding of accrual vs. cash basis accounting.
  • Assist with preparation of State and Federal compliance tasks.
  • Assist with internal procedures and forms creation.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Client Management

  • Establish and maintain multiple client engagements. Serve as liaison to the client and build client relationships.
  • Maintain active communication with clients to ensure expectations and deadlines are met.
  • Manage client relationships through all stages of the client life-cycle.
  • Answer client questions; receive and distribute messages to the appropriate parties.

Selection Criteria or Qualifications:

  • Small business experience and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Communicates effectively and appropriately. Speaks and writes in a clear and credible manner.
  • Uses good judgment as to what to communicate to whom as well as the best way to get that accomplished.
  • Actively listens to others. Ability to present and explain information to executive management. Adheres to a strict confidentiality policy.
  • Computer/ Software Knowledge. Proficient in MS Office Programs; In-depth experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
  • Detail Oriented. Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills. Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive and multiple deadlines workplace while maintaining a spirit of ownership and collaboration.
  • Customer Care. This position entails emailing and speaking with customers every day. A positive attitude and people skills are essential.
  • Initiative and Independence . Proactive, resourceful, and support oriented. Must be able to identify areas to enhance efficiencies and create and implement solutions for the benefit of the company. Must have ability to balance changing priorities.

Educational /Professional Experience Requirements:

Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or Business is required. Two years' experience in public accounting environment focusing on individual and business tax is a plus.

Job Type: Full time, Part-time

Pay: From $22.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
